What Is Botox?
BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport and Xeomin are nonsurgical treatments (injection) that temporarily smooths dynamic facial wrinkles. Their active ingredient is botulinum toxin. They work by temporary weakening (or paralyzing) the directed muscles responsible for causing the dynamic wrinkles (those related to muscle activity/motion during facial expression). It is important to note that they will not address static wrinkles, which are always present.
Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin are ideal for the crows feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.
After Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin injections, it takes a few days before you see the full effects. The effects of toxin treatments last 3-6 months, after which time, the injection should be repeated.
